Our Story
Built around people, service and local knowledge
Cleworth Building Supplies (CBS) was established in 2023 by husband and wife team Rob and Hayley Cleworth, with a simple vision: to build an independent builders merchant that puts its customers and its people at the heart of everything it does.
At CBS, we believe in strong leadership, a motivated team and excellent service. We are a group of dedicated people who are committed to building a business that continues to grow, develop and improve.
Listening to our customers is at the forefront of our growth. From building materials, timber and fencing to an expanding range of landscaping supplies, paving and aggregates, CBS continues to develop its products and services in response to what customers actually need.
Cleworth Building Supplies is proud to be an independent local business, serving customers across Sussex and Surrey.
Trade or DIY, every customer receives friendly, personal support. Our team will take the time to understand what you need and help you find the right materials.

As an independent local business, we understand the importance of supporting our community. This includes working with Men in Sheds and supporting events such as Cranleigh Carnival and Pulborough Village Market.
We continue to look for practical ways to reduce our environmental impact. Our branches use electric forklift trucks, and delivery routes are carefully planned to reduce driving time and fuel use.
